Eyes here, mobile photography enthusiasts in Cebu!
Cebu Content Creators, in partnership with Mobile Photography Philippines, is presenting #ExperienceCordova – a mobile photography photowalk covering the beautiful and photogenic spots of the town of Cordova, Cebu.
Special thanks to our sponsors for making this photowalk a reality.
Experience Cordova Photowalk Details
The photowalk will be held on May 25, 2019. Meetup time is at 1:00 PM at the Cordova Church. Everyone who enjoys taking photos with their smartphones, want to level up their mobile photography skills, and looking to meet fellow photography enthusiasts are all invited to join. You prefer to use a DSLR or a mirrorless camera? No problem, you can join as well!
The photowalk’s main purpose is to discover the beauty of Cordova. While going around on foot, expect to see new angles and perspectives in this municipality that you would not ordinarily notice if you’re just passing through by car.
To maximize photography opportunities, the Experience Cordova photowalk route will cover these locations:
- San Roque Church (Meet-up point)
- Cordova Public Market
- Roro Dos
- Day-as (Lantaw & 10K Roses)
- Buagsong (Entoy’s Bakasi & Sunset Spot)
- Gabi (Night shots and food market)
As an option, you can go with the organizers to visit Pilipog Public Market (early in the morning at 5:30 am to catch the sunrise).
Participants can expect plenty of sunset and night photo opportunities, weather permitting. So ready yourself to take tons of stunning landscape, people interest, and town shots.
Why Explore Cordova?
A municipality located off the southern coast of Mactan Island, Cordova has plenty of beauty to offer. The Day-As Boardwalk and Marine Park, for example, is a great place to hang out with friends and family. Enjoy each other’s company and the scenery. Then there is Buagsong where you can catch sight of a gorgeous sunset almost every day.
Visitors are also encouraged to visit the public markets in the municipality to get a better view of the local life and to interact with the residents. For those of you who like beaches, snorkeling, and marine life – Cordova will not disappoint. Nalusuan Island and Gilutongan Island are part of the municipality and they are excellent destinations for all ocean and beach lovers.
Join the Explore Cordova Photowalk and see for yourself what this part of Cebu is all about!
How to Enjoy the Photowalk to the Fullest
Have your lunch before the meetup so you will have plenty of energy to walk around and be creative with your photos.
Be sure to bring a bottle of water as well to keep yourself hydrated. Don’t forget your extra batteries or power banks. It would be such a shame if your phone runs out of juice just as new photogenic spots come into view.
Don’t be shy as well once you meet the other participants. This is a perfect opportunity to learn from others and to become friends with fellow smartphone photography enthusiasts.
Lastly, enjoy the ebb and flow of the local lifestyle as we explore the municipality. Let your creativity shine, open your mind, and let Cordova surprise you!
Last Saturday, the first ever Cebu Creators Day organized by Cebu Content Creators was a big success! Bloggers, vloggers, social media creators, and businesses participated in the event that was held at Robinson’s Fuente. With the theme “Content Creation for Millennials”, it became a gathering of those who are eager to step up their game and learn from the experts of content creation.
The digital content creation industry is fast-paced and ever-changing. If you are a content creator or aspiring to be one, it’s crucial to grow your online presence, but even that is not enough. You have to consistently be on top of everything so that you won’t be left behind by the trends that have a big potential to level-up your contents.
During the event, five speakers from different niches shared so much insight to the audience. These speakers are among the best in their chosen field of content creation so they are certainly credible sources of information.
CJ Estrada of Four-Eyed Laagan demonstrated some essential techniques about vlogging-on-the-go or creating videos using a smartphone. It just goes to show that better vlogging can also be done even when your only gadget is your smartphone. He shared, “Just be confident. It takes time, but just practice and practice until you get there.”
Jullian Sibi of Utterly Random Techie, who spoke about the realities of being a Cebu Tech Blogger, told the audience to “be passionate about tech blogging or in any endeavor you’re pursuing.” True enough! There are only a few tech bloggers in Cebu and if you decide to be one, do your best to be updated because it’s not all fun and games. There’s also work to do.
Issa Perez of Issaplease spoke about maximizing social media for creative outlets. Millennials have dominated the internet, there’s no doubt about that. Issa has since launched a podcast through Facebook live videos to talk about topics relevant to her and her followers. She stressed that there’s no need to compare yourself with other content creators. Instead, just take the best practices of others, learn from them, and focus on your own growth.
Doyzkie Buenaviaje of I Luv Cebu talked about social media good and blogging with a cause. During his talk, he shared the events he initiated, as well as his advocacies. With the aim of creating a venue for Cebu Instagrammers to meet and do something good for the community, he started Instameet a few years back, and every year was always a success. He was also leading his non-profit organization called iLearners Inc. which is dedicated to supporting, enriching, and enhancing the learning experience of students in the rural areas.
Rome Nicolas of Basta Bisaya and GBG Cebu shared about how content creators can help businesses. He talked about how businesses should be where their target market is. To sum up, content creators can help businesses in three ways: raising awareness, selling products, and writing reviews.
There’s still so much to learn about content creation so stay tuned for the next Cebu Creators Day and other events. We aim to make every event better for you each time. Cebu Content Creators would also like to thank Google Business Group – Cebu for co-organizing this event with us, and Robinson’s Fuente for being our venue partner.
Special thanks to FF Sibi Enterprises, Inc, Cebu Finest, Utterly Random Techie, Basta Bisaya, Four-eyed Laagan and Kalami Cebu.
Lastly, thank you to all the participants for joining us! We hope to see you again in our next events.

Are you an aspiring blogger who wants to learn the basics of blogging? Cebu Content Creators is having its first Blogging for First-Timers (BFF) Workshop. This is not just your ordinary workshop because the mentors who will handle it are experienced bloggers themselves who have maintained a blog or blogs for several years, so they know how blogging works. Thus, you are in good hands!
The BFF workshop aims to introduce aspiring bloggers the proper ways to start a blog, help them identify effective social media tools to grow their online presence, and to equip these aspiring bloggers with basic photography skills using their smartphones. After all, blogging is no longer just about writing and publishing an article online. Social media and photography are both crucial elements of blogging too.
Here are the things you can expect to learn from the workshop:
1. How to Start a Blog (Speaker: Rome Nicolas of Basta Bisaya)
As most people would say, it’s easy to think of starting a blog, but putting it into action is difficult when you don’t have guidance from the experts. True, you can easily Google How to Start a Blog but this workshop is a hands-on application so you will know right there and then how you can start.
2. How to Establish your Online Presence (Speaker: Philip Andrew Mayol of Cebu Finest)
Blogging is never complete without your online presence. In today’s social media technology, you need to grow your audience or target market online using the right social media tools that will work for you and your readers.
3. Smartphone Photography for a Blog (Speaker: Katherine Annika Cutar of Nested Thoughts)
You probably already know by now how photos can speak a thousand words. With blogging, it’s important to not just include photos on your blog, but also to take good photos that can supplement the context of your blog posts. The good thing is you don’t need a professional DSLR camera while you’re still starting to blog. Your smartphone can take great photos as long as you know how to take advantage of its features.
In addition, you will get to know more about the organizing group which is the Cebu Content Creators, and learn what the objectives are. This will be presented by Carlo Andrew Olano of Kalami Cebu.
